Welcome! I am an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Victoria. I received my PhD [2011] and Master’s degrees [2007] from Harvard University in the United States. Before coming to North America, I had my undergraduate degree [2004] at Peking University in China.
My research interests are centered on social network analysis, global networks and institutions, and East Asian societies. I have published articles in such journals as Social Forces, Social Networks, Social Science Research, Social Science & Medicine, The Sociological Quarterly, International Sociology, Sociological Perspectives, Sociological Forum, Canadian Review of Sociology, and Journal of East Asian Studies, among others.
